Line 761

Line 761 has been identified as needing a more direct routing in Westwood; as noted on the map, the pictured routing is not considered ideal by sector staff as it would bypass the connection with Metro Rapid Line 720 (Wilshire Blvd.-Whittier Blvd.). A joint motion in July, 2007 by the Governance Councils of Metro San Fernando Valley and Metro Westside/Central has directed staff to research replacing the Sherman Oaks - Westwood portion of Line 761 with Metro Express service; such a line would operate directly from Van Nuys Orange Line Station to Westwood via the San Diego (I-405) freeway, with only one or two stops in the Brentwood/Westwood area.
