Line 96 Political Realignment
The June, 2010 service changes included the making permanent a change to Line 96 to operate past the Silver Lake Library.
The change was actually implemented December 13, 2009 at the request of Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti. Like the Line 902 proposal, the Metro San Fernando Valley Governance Council was not advised of the request until staff had already agreed to the realignment; several Council members questioned the need for the realignment since Line 92 already operated past the library, with more frequent service. After the change was included in the next public hearing, the Council ultimately voted to make the realignment permanent as of June 27, 2010.
