San Fernando Valley School Service
The above two maps were issued in 1969 by RTD to show the special "school tripper" routings in the San Fernando Valley. We believe that these were identified as Line 148 (at least internally) around 1971-72, although our research in the line history files at Metro did not find any hard documentation, other than references to Line 148 in various other lines' files during that period. We apologize for the less-than-perfect quality of the maps; they were oversized and had to be scanned in four parts each, then recombined and resized. Unfortunately, despite a considerable amount of time and effort, we could not perfectly realign all four parts, so we are using the best compromised versions. Clicking on the maps above will open a new browser window and display the larger versions; we have also created separate files (mornings, afternoons) with the route information (shown in red on the original maps), converted to black and white and sized for better reading.
