Line 426 (Sherman Way Limited - Mid-Wilshire Express)
Proposed to be extended via Western Ave. - Exposition Blvd. from Wilshire/Western Station to USC.
Placed on hold just before its scheduled December 14, 1997 implementation; the March, 2002 MTA Plan for Continuing Compliance with the Consent Decree called for the funds allocated to this line, as well as Lines 530 and 577, to be reprogrammed to the Metro Rapid expansion program. When the Metro Red Line extension to the San Fernando Valley began operation (June 24, 2000), Line 426 was realigned past North Hollywood Station; the route south of the station was cancelled on June 29, 2003 and the remainder was renumbered to Line 363 on June 26, 2005. Further changes were made on December 18, 2006 when Line 363 was "straightlined" to operate direct via Sherman Way and Lankershim Blvd. and on June 24, 2007 when the line was extended to West Hills Medical Center.
