Line 166 (Nordhoff St. - Osborne St.)
Proposed extension to Universal City via Glenoaks Blvd. - Sheldon St. - San Fernando Rd. - Lankershim Blvd. (replacing Line 228) and to Chatsworth Metrolink Station via Plummer St. - Topanga Canyon Blvd - Devonshire St. Implemented December 10, 1995 via Tuxford St. instead of Sheldon St. (due to safety issues crossing railroad tracks at Sheldon St./San Fernando Rd. discovered during operator training trips; shown on second map) and via Owensmouth St. instead of Canoga Ave. (using former Line 545 routing).
- Replaced on Lankershim Blvd. by Line 224 -- also incorporating Line 94 between Sylmar and Sun Valley -- as part of Metro Connections December 17, 2006.
- Metro Rapid Line 724 -- operating on the Line 224 alignment between Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink Station and North Hollywood Red Line Station -- was implemented June 30, 2008. Line 724 was cancelled June 26, 2009, with an extension of Line 794 replacing the San Fernando Rd. segment.
- Proposed for realignment into a new transit center at Cal State Northridge in March, 2010. Withdrawn after the public hearing.
