Line 236 (Balboa Blvd. - Woodley Ave.)
Proposed to replace Ventura Blvd. - Hayvenhurst Ave. - Burbank Blvd. - Woodley Ave. service with new weekday peak-hour only route to Sherman Oaks via Victory Blvd. - Van Nuys Blvd., connected at north end via Gothic Ave. - Shamhart Dr. - Knollwood Rd. - Pineridge Dr. Implemented June 25, 1995 using direct connection via Rinaldi St. (shown on second map, from an April, 1995 staff report to the MTA Board of Directors; the route segment between Balboa Blvd. and Woodley Ave. via residential streets north of Rinaldi St. was deemed unworkable after test runs with standard 40-foot buses, and the presence of the buses doing test runs created objections from area residents, who were apparently unaware of the proposal at the time of the public hearing). Midday service was reinstated on Woodley Ave. between Rinaldi St. and Sherman Way December 10, 1995 and was extended to Sherman Oaks December 6, 1999.

- The alternative proposal for Line 94 in the 2003 service change program extended Line 236 to Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink Station -- and renumbered Woodley Ave. service to Line 237 -- June 29, 2003.
- Line 237 is proposed to be combined with Burbank Blvd. portion of Line 156 as part of Metro Connections. The Victory Blvd. - Van Nuys Blvd. route segments will be canceled effective June 29, 2008.
