Line 240 (Reseda Blvd.)
Proposed for replacement by new Line 522, continuing via Ventura Blvd. - Hollywood Fwy. - Vermont Ave. to L.A. City College with minor realignment at north terminal to serve CSUN housing. Implemented June 25, 1995.

The new routing caused a passenger load imbalance and the line was extended as a branch of Line 424 to downtown Los Angeles September 17, 1995.

- Proposed to be shortened in 1999 as part of the Metro Red Line Bus/Rail Interface to Hollywood/Vine Station. Never implemented.
- Freeway express segment eliminated and renumbered back to Line 240 as part of Metro Red Line Bus/Rail Interface June 26, 2000. The cutback to Universal City Station was also called for in the Westside Transit Restructuring Study (completed in June, 1998).
- Elimination of Ventura Blvd. route was proposed for implementation in December, 2006 as part of Metro Connections. Withdrawn after public hearing.
- Proposed for realignment into a new transit center at Cal State Northridge in March, 2010. Withdrawn after the public hearing.
