Line 427 (West Hills - Downtown L.A. Express)

Proposed to operate as branch of Line 423, including off-freeway stop at Encino Park-Ride. In 1996, this was proposed to be implemented as a cutback of Line 427 at Warner Center and a LADOT Smart Shuttle circulator to/from the West Hills area. None of this was implemented, primarily because Line 164 had already been realigned to make connections with Line 427, and staff believed (correctly, as time proved) that the line would be restructured or canceled when the Metro Red Line was extended to the Valley in 2000.

• Shown in the Westside Transit Service Restructuring Study as incorporating part of the proposed Line 411 routing as part of a restructuring involving Line 549.
• Proposed to be realigned to new terminal at Hollywood/Vine Station in 1999 as part of the Metro Red Line Bus/Rail Interface but deferred to the next year, when the line was canceled entirely.
