Westside Transit Restructuring Study
In June, 1998, the Westside Transit Restructuring Study was released; since some San Fernando Valley service operated into the Westside/Central City area, the study commented on those lines' future restructuring as the Metro Red Line extended into Hollywood and the Valley over the next two years. However, three of the lines included in that commentary are of special interest as they applied to the San Fernando Valley Transit Restructuring Study:
Line 201 was shown bypassing the Atwater Village area, which was implemented December 18, 2005.
Line 427 was shown as being restructured to operate between North Hollywood Red Line Station and Warner Center, in a variation on the SFVTRS Line 411 proposal.
The map for Line 573 showed a reference to Line 549 being extended to Warner Center, in another variation on the SFVTRS Line 411 proposal. It is not clarified anywhere in the study how both the Line 427 and Line 549 proposals were expected to be implemented.
